I loved Crimson Flames. I loved the storyline and the characters. I loved the chemistry between Malachai and Johnny. I loved that although Malachai is an Alpha dragon and can make humans pregnant that his favorite birth control is by picking up a human to top him instead of him topping the human which is what his dragon would prefer him to do. When he needs to work off some energy, a booming LA nightclub seems just the place to do it. With his dragon so close to the surface it isn’t a good idea to take anybody home until he gets a whiff of Johnny. Johnny is a sexy, laid-back California boy, born and raised on the beach. Their attraction is immediate, and it seems almost futile to resist the sexual tension between them. I loved that Malachai knew that Johnny is his mate and that he couldn’t resist sleeping with him and getting him pregnant. I loved that Malachai takes Johnny to see his older brother Levi and that his mother just happens to be visiting him. I loved that his mom hates humans and doesn’t like Johnny. I loved that they end up staying in Levi’s territory because it has a really good doctor that Malachai wants Johnny to see. I loved that Malachai and Johnny take parenting classes while he is pregnant especially when they find out they are having twins. I loved that they are able to use Levi’s cave for the birth and that the doctor comes with them. I loved that Malachai’s mom comes around after testing and proving that both of the babies are dragons, and welcomes him to the family. Good story, a little rushed at times. But a good story, could almost be envious of the love felt by the characters!
Some times you come across a good book or series and you don't even want to read a synopsis or anything about the characters, this being the case! Once I saw one of my new favorite authors was doing Dragon shifters now, I knew I was all in. This was a great detour from the usual shifter world were its always about fighting and death, although I was waiting for the other shoe to drop! I was on a total emotional roller coaster, This was an awesome story and it made me feel like I was part of the story it self. It was so passionate, compelling and heart felt. A VERY highly recommended read!
